Training, Technical Assistance & Learning Support
The StreetCheck team is available to facilitate trainings in Massachusetts and across the United States for teams and organizations that are thinking about implementing community drug checking or seeking further training on proven evidence-based strategies. Our team is full of knowledge, expertise, and lived/living experience. We offer a variety of in-person trainings, virtual workshops, webinars, and two monthly drop-in meetings for drug checking technicians and program staff.
FTIR and StreetCheck Training Series
-
2 Day FTIR Training (in-person)
Day 1 of the training will be helpful for anyone doing sample data collection, assisting with the drug checking (test strips and/or FTIR) project, or sharing results with participants. It will cover sample data collection; orientation to the tools of drug checking; safety considerations; StreetCheck for collection and reporting; basic FTIR preparation, scanning, and clean up skills; and communicating drug checking results.
Day 2 will be helpful for a dedicated FTIR technician (aka the person scanning and analyzing samples). We suggest that each program identify and send at least two people who will be conducting FTIR spectral analysis. This day will have a good bit of time for structured analysis and focused hands-on skill development related to FTIR scanning and analysis.
